Dr. Meklit Abebe, OD, is an experienced and dedicated optometrist committed to providing comprehensive eye care to her patients. Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Dr. Abebe brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to her practice.
Educational Background:
Dr. Abebe earned her bachelor's degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and her master's degree in biomedical science from the Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Medicine, also in Philadelphia. She then pursued her optometry degree at the esteemed SUNY College of Optometry in New York.
While at SUNY Optometry, Dr. Abebe had the opportunity to rotate through the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilmington, DE, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She also had the privilege of traveling to Oaxaca, Mexico, for a mission trip, where she served over 300 patients, providing much-needed eye care services.
